Our Journey to Guatemala

Wow! Our first newsletter! We cannot believe we are finally at this point. We have been receiving newsletters from missionaries that we support for years, but we never actually thought we would ever send one of our own. God is good.

These last two months have been amazing, to say the least. We were both timid to begin the fundraising portion of our journey. It's never easy to ask people for money. It's just plain awkward, but God has shown us his glory in this process. We have learned that fundraising is a time of depending on Him. We have also learned that we are not just flat out asking people for money. We are asking people to partner with us. We are asking friends and family to be a part of what God is doing in La Arenera Guatemala.

This ministry in Guatemala also provides us to minister locally; to you. A big desire that we have is to pray for you all. We want to encourage you when we can, praise God when good things happen for you, and seek Him on your behalf when things are not going well. If any of you need anything, we want to help. Please dont be shy about sending us your prayer requests, praises or needs. We have made the commitment to pray over these every week.

Once our church (The Village Church) sent in their monthly financial support pledge, we reached 33% of our monthly amount required to leave. It feels like we have so far to go, but we know that it is in God's timing. We are trusting that he will provide whether that's through you, your friends (hint hint, wink wink), or a random stranger on the street.

Thank you so much for joining with us on this journey. We are so grateful to know each of you and have been so encouraged by your love and support. We plan on sending a monthly newsletter. If you would like to be taken off of the list, please reply to us and let us know (but seriously, who would want to do a thing like that?:))

Much love,
The Herringtons
